A 2012 sex tape leaked in 2015 included Hogan using racial slurs and expressing racist views. He was fired by WWE and removed from the Hall of Fame. The recording was central to his privacy lawsuit against Gawker, which he won.

In November 2006, Richards launched into a racist tirade against Black audience members during a stand-up set at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, repeatedly using the N-word. The incident was caught on video and effectively ended his career.
